Self Love Oil is built to do both at once: smaller oil particles absorb into the nail plate, while larger ones form a protective barrier on the surface that helps slow water loss and shields nails from drying chemicals. It is the foundation step that makes every other part of your nail routine work better.

The cuticle is where the skin needs the nourishment, but the nail plate benefits just as much, because that is where moisture is held or lost. Self Love Oil is formulated to absorb into the nail and sit protectively on the surface, so working it into both gives you the full benefit.
At least once a day, and ideally morning and night. It is a nourishing oil, so there is no real downside to using it often. If your cuticles are very dry, you can reapply after washing your hands, which is when nails lose the most moisture.
No. Apply it after your polish has fully dried, or to bare nails, never underneath. Oil under polish stops the polish adhering properly, so it lifts and chips. Think of the oil as the last step in your routine, not the first.
Not really. It is just a blend of nourishing oils, so using it often does no harm. A few drops is plenty per hand. Massage it in and wipe away any excess. The one time to skip it is right before applying nail polish (see below).
Clean, dry nails are best, and just after washing your hands or showering is an ideal moment, while the skin is soft and receptive. Avoid applying it immediately before painting your nails as it will impact adhesion.
We will be honest here, because a lot of claims online overstate this. Oil does not speed up how fast your nails grow. What it does is keep them hydrated and flexible, so they break, split and peel less. That means you hold onto length instead of losing it, and nails look healthier as they grow out. The result looks like better growth, even though the growth rate itself has not changed.
Yes. Massaging Self Love Oil into the nail and cuticle daily helps keep enhancements flexible and can prolong their wear by reducing lifting at the edges. It works just as well on bare natural nails.
It is not greasy, which is one of the things customers mention most. It absorbs quickly once massaged in. If there is any excess after a minute or so, just wipe it away. For the deepest nourishment, apply it before bed so it can absorb overnight without being washed off.

This is a great product. My nails are dry and brittle I’m using this to rub into my cuticles and hands every day. It’s made a big difference. I Aldo use it in my lips. I tend to wear matt stain lipsticks which dry my lips. Using the oil have improved the dryness dramatically. It’s a must buy product.

I adore the self love oil. I use it every day at work when im stuck on the phone. Alot of oils aren’t particularly absorbent, if that makes sense, as in they just sit on your skin but dont actually do too much hydrating. This isnt like that. I use it on my cuticles but also my raggedy nails as i like to scrape polish off w my teeth (yeah, gross) so i massage this into my nail beds and its super restorative too. A good lip conditioner too before bed. Its a massive multi tasker this one. And application is easy as its got a little dropper pipette thing. 14/10 will continue to use.

I’m huge on making sure if I’m shopping for nail polish it’s good for my nail as I have such trouble with breakage. I’m in love with Kester Black products. The nail polish is a good consitance, goes on smooth, fast to dry, beautiful colours and very sturdy ( I find most nail polish chip quite easily on me so this is great!) since using their nail polish and the self love oil I’ve noticed my nails aren’t as soft and the breakages aren’t as bad!
