WHAT'S HAPPENING
Nail fungus develops when microscopic organisms enter through tiny cracks in the nail or surrounding skin. Warm, moist environments (closed shoes, public pools) accelerate growth.
Left untreated, the fungus spreads deeper into the nail plate, causing thickening, discolouration, and brittleness. Over time, the nail can lift from the nail bed entirely.
Most over-the-counter treatments only address the surface. Topical antifungal formulas need to penetrate the nail plate to reach the infection underneath.
